What’s your role at Fusion5?
General Manager - Human Resources and I am responsible for the delivery of HR capability across Fusion5 in New Zealand and Australia.
My role manages the day to day HR operations across Fusion5 ranging from employment relations advice and support, development and implementation of HR policies and practices, Recruitment, Employee Benefits, Performance Review Process, Remuneration and various HR programs and projects.
In addition, I am also responsible for the Administration Team across New Zealand and Australia ensuring that they provide “top notch” service to support the smooth running of the business.
What attracted you to Fusion5?
The culture and professionalism. Fusion5 has an amazing culture which is based on the fantastic people that work at Fusion5. The professionalism of the team and the sense of pride with the Fusion5 brand is outstanding. Fusion5 is very much focused on the customer and providing superior service and support along with being dynamic and nimble which I really enjoy.
What are you working on?
Lots! The recruitment space has been very busy over the past 12-18 months with many successful hires in both Australia and New Zealand which has consumed a large amount of time. As well, I have been involved with a team of people to transform the way we do our Performance Reviews with a move away from a “tick the box exercise” to “real time” conversations/development discussions. In line with this I have reviewed our Performance Measures to ensure they are reflective of what we expect from our people today. The transformation of our Performance Reviews has been well received from our people.
What makes a ‘good day’?
When I go home at the end of the day and I have made a difference and added value to Fusion5 from an HR perspective. I also love seeing processes and practices that have been developed implemented and making life easier for Fusion5 managers and staff.
What are you famous for?
Doing a large number of duathlons over the years and I was invited to appear on the “Good Morning” TV show to share with viewers my story on how I started and what I had achieved.
What do you get up to outside of work?
I enjoy being active so go to the gym and run regularly each week. I enjoy spending time with friends and trying different places for dinner as well as relaxing at home with my family. I am also on the Board of Trustees for my son’s school and have implement their Health & Safety policies/practices, involved in the recruitment of the new school Principal and part of the Policy Committee.
