Scholastic Australia's head office and warehouse complex is located at Lisarow on the NSW Central Coast. Having undergone massive growth through their online order system and Book Club, Scholastic realised the need for an RF product that integrated with JD Edwards, one that would help fulfil the huge number of picks performed in the warehouse in an easy, cost effective manner.
After considering its options, Scholastic chose to implement RFgen. The footprint of this implementation covered inbound and outbound stock processing as well as inventory management. Having the ability to easily scale, RFgen can grow with Scholastic’s needs well into the future.
The first project phase covered automated receipting and put-away of stock. Within a matter of months Scholastic saw the benefits of implementing this solution, and very soon replenishments, palletisation and picking were underway.
Scholastic now has a fully automated warehouse system integrated with their ERP, catering to both their bulk and trade orders. This solution has given the business significant benefit over a short period of time and has had a marked impact on their administration cost base.
